Crafts
Welcome to the Crafts section. We are a group of locals trying to build on the rich heritage of crafts in the area. Linen, lace making and quilting have always been an integral part of the social history of the Villierstown area and we wish to build on this tradition.
Our aim is learn new skills by sharing our knowledge with one and other and by regularly inviting skilled individuals to teach their relevant topics.
We meet every Monday evening in the VECP room in Villierstown and always have a very enjoyable evening. We tend to treat the meetings as a social event and the group is a mixed bunch of beginners, some talented and some not so talented! Whatever you aspire to, do come and join us. This is not a ‘Women only’ group. We actively encourage all from the area. We are a very welcoming bunch and love to meet new people.
One of the best outcomes of our group is the meeting of long standing residents, new residents and visitors.
We showcase our work at the traditional Christmas Fair in the unique Church Hall in Villierstown.
So, if anyone is interested, just call in any Monday evening and join us for a cup of tea and a warm welcome.
