Fundraising

Fundraising is the lifeblood of any community organization.  It brings peoples ideas to enhance their community to life.  But in post Celtic Tiger Ireland it is increasingly difficult for organizations to raise the much needed funds to get these projects off the ground.

The VECP was awarded Charitable Status by the Revenue Commisioners in 2010. This means that we can apply to State and Semi-state bodies to fund all manner of projects for our community.  However, no project will be funded 100%.  There will always be a shortfall that has to be made up by us, the community.  This insures our commitment to deliver our ideas, while making sure we select the correct projects to run with.

After our successful open evening in October 2010, we matched the many ideas to enhance our village, to possible funding sources.  Once these have been prioritized we will start the process of formally applying for funding for these projects.

We will publish that list on this website and at that stage we’ll be looking for your support – emotionally and financially – for some ground breaking projects.
